stars as 'St. Vincent', a misanthropic, hedonistic, drunken war veteran whose
single-mum neighbour Maggie (Melissa McCarthy) asks him to watch over her son
Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher).
Vincent's
ideas of after-school activities turn out to involve racetracks and strip clubs
rather than sports, but he turns out to be an unlikely friend and mentor to
Oliver and, eventually, they help each other grow up.
From a
script which made the Hollywood Black List of best unproduced screenplays in
2011, 'St. Vincent' is a touching, hilarious comedy which also features Chris
O'Dowd and Naomi Watts.
